Pianist John l'Estrange

Pianist John l'Estrange: In this first of a series of Recitals utilising our beautiful Members Bar, Tenor John L'Estrange brings to the RACA a concert program of music highlighting the best of 19th and 20th century Art Song, that song form whose poetry and music weigh equally. The Program is a mixed selection featuring the songs of Tosti (called 'il Schubert Italiano), Wolf (the maverick of Lieder composition), Saint-Saens (French Melodies) and English song masters Vaughan Williams and Roger Quilter. This concert is not to be missed - rarely does one have the opportunity in our fast-paced Sydney to sit and enjoy the languid beauty of this repertoire, and in an engaging environment such as our beautiful Victoria Room/Members Bar. Come and be transported to Old Europe, to a time of salons and haunting song.

 

John L'Estrange is a recent graduate of the Sydney Conservatorium. He is a favourite performer on the NSW Music Clubs circuit, and we are delighted that he has chosen the RACA as the venue for this beautiful program of Art Song. John will be joined by Associate Artist Jaime-Lee Xu at the RACA pianoforte.
